Client Update – EdgeFit
EdgeFit - Rutherfordton, NC
It’s hard to keep up with our friends over at EdgeFit… there’s always something new going on at the gym. In an ongoing effort to baffle the public with a merciless onslaught of fitness options, we’re happy to announce the The new KettleWOD logo to go along with their website for EdgeFIT.
The Kettlebell (Kettle) WOD (Workout-of-the-Day) was specifically designed by Ross Gilling and his team at EdgeFIT HQ to offer an alternative and revolutionary new kettlebell lifting program for Crossfitters and athletes of any age and at all levels of fitness.
KettleWOD was created to expose the CrossFit community to the limitless and untapped potential of the kettlebell. It is not our intention to challenge or compete with CrossFit, we are CrossFit coaches and crossfitters ourselves!
Our aim is to provide the community with a kettlebell education through coaching, demonstrations, and progressions. In addition we will also to provide crossfitters with a daily alternative CrossFit WOD (with a kettlebell twist) to sink their teeth in to!
CrossFit promotes fitness that is broad, general and inclusive. Up to this point we feel kettlebell techniques (with the exception of the swing) have been a little neglected. It is our goal to change that fact and offer CrossFit some new and innovative kettlebell exercises and workouts for consideration in future main site programming and CrossFit competitions.
Regardless of whether you are an elite Crossfitter or kettlebell lifter, a fitness enthusiasts, or a young athlete with future aspirations of performing in the professional sporting arena, our program will improve your strength, skill, power, speed, endurance and overall work capacity through constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity – with kettlebells!

Dear Friends of John 10:16 Ministries,
During Paul’s farewell address to the elders of Ephesus in Acts 20:35 he tells them;
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give then to receive.’”
Last month we were in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for my “annual pilgrimage” to go to an Alabama home football game. And then on Sunday evening, we were watching “The Nick Saban Show” on TV. Alabama football coaches have had their own TV shows on Sunday evenings, going all the way back to Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. And during the show, Coach Nick made this comment:
“When you pray, do you pray to be blessed or do you pray to be a blessing?”
That’s not something that comes easy, because we are all a little self-centered. But we find that when we are a blessing, we make a real difference in other people’s lives.
Do you pray to be blessed or do you pray to be a blessing?
The Apostle Paul was encouraging the Christians at Corinth to be a blessing in 2 Corinthians 9:11-14 (Go ahead and read it in your Bible). He informs them that God has blessed them so that they can be a blessing to others. So we also are to share with those who are not as fortunate as we are – to be a blessing to them. As I said in a sermon some weeks ago –
God did not bless you with prosperity so that you could live a comfortable lifestyle, but so that you could be a blessing to those who are less prosperous than you.
One day Jesus Christ is going to come again and split the eastern sky and come for his own – the Second Advent of Christ. And he isn’t going to ask you how much money you have in a mutual fund. He is not going to ask you how man rooms you have in your home. He is not going to ask you what kind of car you drive. Jesus is going to ask you, “When I was hungry, did you give me something to eat? When I was thirsty, did you give me something to drink? When I was a stranger, did you invite me in? When I needed clothes, did you clothe me? When I was barefoot, did you give me shoes? When I was sick, did you look after me? When I was in prison, did you visit me? When I wanted to learn, did you educate me? When my home was destroyed, did you help me build a new one?”
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for me.” (Matthew 25:35-36, 40 paraphrased)
So, when you pray, do you pray to be blessed or do you pray to be a blessing? Be a blessing to someone else this Christmas. Make a difference in someone else’s life. And not just at Christmas, but all year round.
